- Project / Program Description
This initiative encourages residents to reduce environmental impact and degradation through using affordable solar energy and simultaneously save money through reduced energy costs, thereby increasing personal and community financial stability and supporting job growth in Danville, Illinois. The project builds on a foundation of partnerships, working to shift from treating the low-income community as passive consumers of power to active developers of power.
To build a high-quality, low-cost, environmentally friendly, multi-use building, to provide sustainable rental space to community groups and services that would improve the social, economic, environmental and health outcomes of low-income families and individuals living in the City of Danville.
