Project Description

Project / Program Description

The Amador County Collaborative Solar Procurement project gives the jurisdictions, community organizations, businesses and low and moderate income (LMI) households the ability to purchase solar at a reduced rate with no upfront costs, thus using existing community resources (sunshine in the Gold Country) to power the community in a clean, sustainable and local way.Similar to shopping at bulk supply stores such as Costco or Sam’s Club, collaborative solar procurement would allow the government agencies, commercial and low to moderate income community members of Amador County to purchase solar PV panels at a bulk price, while receiving support from solar experts to guide the process from initial site assessment and feasibility studies to procurement and installation.
