The Casa Móvil Sol project will install 1.2kW solar arrays at 100 mobile homes in Española, New Mexico by October, 2018, within the Jemez Mountain Coop service territory. The Coop is joined in this project by local colleges and local governments plus the State Energy Office and local solar advocates. The solar arrays are mounted atop a pole in ways uniquely suited for mobile home park conditions. The arrays will either be owned by residents or owned the rural coop that will offer bill discounts based on solar output. The project aims to benefit low to moderate income mobile home residents with lower utility bills while creating solar fabrication and installation jobs in the community.
