Project Description

Project / Program Description

The P52ES team intends to create a Special Purpose Entity (SPE) for the purpose of developing a grid-tied 18.5MWDC (15.1MWAC)Solar PV facility, with 2.5MW/5MWh battery storage solution (the “Project”) on land leased by Florida A&M University. The Project will produce 27,420 MWh per year, comprised of 56,040 REC solar, REC330TP72 modules, 301 RPI-M50A(Delta) inverters and will include a fixed tilt ground mount racking structure. Roughly 92.5 Acres of land will be appropriated for the Project. The SPE’s goal will be to develop a turnkey Purchased Power Agreement (PPA)for all energy produced by the system, as well as a battery storage solution that utilizes Peak intermittency due to cloud cover, and assist Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative (“The Utility”) with capacity issues. Norwegian Solar AS(https://www.norwegiansolar.com/) will finance the project. 5MWDC (36% of total facility) will be used to service LMI communities. . All energy will be sent and delivered through Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative Utility. Florida A&M will use the project not only for economics, but also as an educational opportunity for the students, by developing a renewable energy training program for FAMU, focusing on agricultural applications. Florida A&M is one of 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
