Teams may submit applications related to projects or programs.
Projects are tangible solar installations that generate electricity and deliver it to LMI households, non-profits, and/or governmental organizations. They must consist of an installed PV system or portfolio of local systems and demonstrate innovative and scalable business practices that expand solar access to communities. Examples include a property manager for an LMI development that manages the procurement of low-cost solar energy for its tenants.
Programs can be led by utilities, governments, or financial institutions and are meant to enable the installation of solar assets for LMI households, non-profits, and/or governmental organizations. Examples include a financial institution that offers low-interest loans for the installation of solar for LMI individuals or a utility-sponsored rebate program for the installation of solar on public properties.
