    Goal

    Bring solar to LMI households, non-profits, and local governments at scale.

    Build local capacity to support mid-scale solar projects.

    Impact

    1 GW of local solar projects before 2020 due to scalable, replicable, sustainable, and innovative business and financial models without new legislation

    Contest

    Design and deploy scalable local solar projects/programs (25-5,000 kW) in 18 months with customer bases consisting of at least 20% Low and Moderate Income (LMI) or 60% non-profit.

    Prizes & Awards

    Seed prizes $2M ($20-50k each + 20% LMI bonus)

    Technical Assistance prizes $2M (up to $10k each)

    Final prizes $1M
