Project Description

Project / Program Description

We plan to utilize community solar as an innovative organizing tool at two African-American churches in the Baltimore area, to accomplish three goals: 1. To bring solar to underserved communities; 2. To educate communities, that are typically most impacted by local source pollution, about clean energy alternatives; and 3. To provide resources for members of these communities to empower themselves through entrepreneurial and job training activities. We will have a particular focus on low and moderate income members of the church. Through our activities as a partnership, we expect to build a model to promote local economic empowerment, group cohesion, and education through community solar.
